Alan did not write this.  It appeared in an e-mail to which I responded.

If Mohammed did declare this, I am not surprised.  As we all know [heavy
sarcasm] a woman's place is in the home.

As I am writing, some of the misogynist (sp?) remarks on this list are a
long way from the first principle of the TS.
