Gertrude,
In the public scene, that is true.  Submissive men have traditionally been
the ones with the most trouble finding partners and thus gravitate to the
clubs more than dominant ones.  There are no accurate figures available on
the real proportions of dominant/submissive men and women who play because
the vast, vast, vast bulk of them will never need to set foot in any
organization.  My personal feeling is that the true numbers are about even
for both in the real world.
