	Yes. The fact that what, precisely, theosophy *is* has been the 
subject of quite extended and often heated discourse on this list. You 
happened to join the list during a bit of a lull in the conversation, and 
hence your question probably appeared designed to re-start the debate.

	I take it, then, that you haven't seen much of the list - we 
agree on almost *nothing*.  Stay on the list for a few months - long 
enough to have your most deeply held beliefs questioned to their roots - 
and we'll see how broad *your* mind is. The official motto of the 
Theosophical Society is "There is no religion higher than truth" - the 
unofficial motto is "Theosophy: We dare ya!".
