I think you have stumbled on a major problem that raises it's really ugly
head in any organization that considers itself to be either Occult or a
Mystery School. Now I don't believe the theosophical movement was intended
to actually be such a hierarchial thing, I believe it was intended to be a
venue for the intensification of individual comprehension and understanding.
But both history and messages regularly posted to this list, make it clear
that "Mystery School" is what it has become, and that is obviously equally
true about the Anthroposophists.

The kind of people drawn to pseudo-mystery schools are the kind of people
that require hierarchial distinction in their lives. They need to be part of
"superior" inner-circles, they need ego gratification and some of them at
least need the illusion of power. I say "illusion" because being a power in
either the Theosophical society or the Anthroposophical Society is really a
joke. The T.S> has 4200 members in america and some 30,000 world wide, I
have no idea how big the Steiner Bunch is, but it is probably no bigger, now
in a world of four and a half Billion souls, that's hardly significant. Of
course both Societies have significant fiduciary endowments so perhaps
that's the target for at least some of them.

As Dr. Nc Coy always said "It's dead Jim"!
