        Michelle:

Thanks for the detailed response. I have some followup comments
which follow.

Glad you noticed 4 past officers from outside the US and two
Wheaton Employees. I do not recall seeing any of the four past officers
engaging in any discussions here, at least since I joined the list. May
be I missed.

The two Wheaton employees have very occassionally posted
messages. As "employees" of TSA at Wheaton, they are somewhat constrained
on what they can openly say here. Since you and me are not *employees* of
TSA, we have a lot more real freedom and latitude in what we can post.

I am not jumping into any conclusions. It does not take a brain
surgeon to understand and appreciate e-mail. The access and the hardware
requirements are so minimal, that there is no excuse for not using them.
Unlimited full internet PPP access is now available in San Antonio for
$10.00 a month with a setup fee of $10.00. Also as IS person you know
with a shell access, all one needs is IBM PC/XT with a modem and mono
monitor which can be picked up very cheap in the used computer stores.
Recently there was a newsreport that a homeless person has a WWW page. I
started with a PC/XT and even today from time to time I use it to
retrieve and reply to messages.

Based on my personal experience, e-mail is a very effective and
efficient tool and it can save time, money and trees. I use it very
frequently because as a self-employed person, to me every minute and every
penny counts (all the expenses come from my pocket) and I am always very
sensitive to both. I have yet to see the recognition of the efficiency
and effectiveness and time and money saving aspects of e-mail by TSA
Elected Officials. Hopefully they will come to understand and use it
sometime in the future; earlier the better.

I do a lot of business consulting for my clients. For every
problem, there is a solution. Dealing with the list is time consuming, no
doubt. If this is the problem, then I am sure we can find a solution. By
the way, in the TSA membership lurks quite a range and depth of professional
expertise and experience and one has only to tap them and use them.

Each organization has its own way of dealing with mail traffic. A
satisfactory solution can be found if the problem and objectives are
clearly addressed.

When I meant *only* game - I meant maillist in the USA. Another
maillist will be operational soon.
