Ellen G. White was the prophetess who picked up the pieces after
the expected coming of Christ failed to materialize for the
Adventists in 1844. She led the Seventh-day branch of the
movement, which is going strong, having quadrupled its membership
in the last 25 years to 8 million. But it has been conclusively
demonstrated that she plagiarized much of her writing.
